BRITISH ZIONISTS OBSERVE ANNIVERSARY OF HERAT’S DEATH
The Zionist Federation of Great Britain today held a meeting marking the 50th anniversary of the death of Theodor Herzl, founder of modern Zionism.
The meeting also marked the inauguration of the Herzl year celebrations in this country, during which a number of special exhibitions, membership drives, seminars, lectures and other events will be held. Among the speakers at today’s meeting were Gershon Avner, Israel Charge d’Affaires in London, Baanett Janner, president of the Zionist Federation, and Sir Leon Simon.
