Samuel Bronfman was re-elected president of the Canada-Israel corporation at its annual board meeting. The corporation was established by the Canadian Jewish Congress and the Zionist Organization of Canada to stimulate trade between the two countries. Sigmund Unterberg, manager of the Corporation, announced at the meeting that an agreement recently concluded with a group of banks will provide $2, 800,000 credit to facilitate purchase and shipment of commodities to Israel by the Corporation. It was also revealed at the meeting that a shipment of 10,000 tons of wheat, worth $800,000, will leave Vancouver en route to Israel at the end of this month, bringing to $6,000,000 the total purchases arranged to date by the corporation.
