A resolution demanding “stricter measures” against the Jews of Bulgaria was adopted at a meeting of the Union of Bulgarian Reserve Officers, it is reported in the Nazi newspaper Donau Zeitung reaching here today.
Pressed by the Nazi government in Berlin, which is anxious to secure complete control over Bulgarian industry, the authorities in Bulgaria have ordered the confiscation of a number of large Jewish factories, according to a report from Sofia.
The factories will become the property of the Bulgarian state and will then be “leased” to Germans, the report stated. Further anti-Jewish measures are to be expected in Bulgaria before the month is over, the report indicated.
