The Bundist leader Raphael Abramovitch is the centre to-day of the furious denunciations of the agents of the Second International and of world bourgeoisie, which are appoaring in the Soviet papers, particularly the “Pravda” and the “Emess”, in connection with the big State trial which opens here on Sunday against fourteen persons (six of them Jews) accused of Menshevik counter-revolutionary activity.

The Second International and world-bourgeoisic, they write, terrified by the success of the Soviet five-year plan, and seeing that foreign intervention is futile, are now trying to bring about intervention from within the Soviet Union. The “Emess” warns Abramovitch that his Menshevist associates inside the Soviet Union have no influence with the masses of the Soviet population, and goes on to complain of the hypocricy of the Socialists of the Second International, who at the same time pass resolutions demanding the recognition of Soviet Russia by their Governments, and provide funds for financing Menshevist conspirators against the Soviet regime.
