Anti-Jewish slurs have been injected into recent broadcasts by the Voice of the Arabs, the Cairo radio outlet of the United Arab Republic.
A recent UAR broadcast, noted in Washington, said “a Communist is like a Jew–servile, a flatterer, and a hypocrite.” Another broadcast, quoting the Nasser-controlled newspaper, “Al-Gomhouria, alleged that a Jew was among “hard-core Iraqi communists.” Cairo said “a communist newspaper described them as heroic martyrs, yet one was a Jew.”
