The Canadian Charge d’Affairs in Vienna has expressed the Canadian Government’s concern and interest in the negotiations between world Jewish organizations and the Austrian Government for restitution and reparations payments, the Canadian Jewish Congress announced today.
The Congress, which asked the Canadian Government to intervene in behalf of the Jewish organizations, was informed of the Canadian diplomat’s action by representatives of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. The Conference added that the Jewish delegation in Vienna found the Canadian Government’s intervention “timely and helpful.”
