Yesterday’s issue of the Detroit Jewish Chronicle comments as follows on Vladimir Jabotinsky’s J. T. A. article proposing Zionist unity:
“The fallacy of Mr. Jabotinsky’s argument is proven when he proposes that each party be free to initiate ‘any separate action, political or otherwise.’ Imagine what it means! A crisis might arise in the movement. The Congress would be convened to decide on the action to be pursued, and a political program would be framed. Suddenly Mr. Jabotinsky and his Revisionists would appear on the scene-as they have-and would say that they propose to act as they please-‘free to act as they like,’ to quote Mr. Jabotinsky’s words…Conscientious Zionists will not only reject Mr. Jabotinsky’s proposal: they will condemn it. Any movement must have a certain amount of discipline, particularly a worldwide cause like Zionism which embraces groups and parties in all lands on the globe.
“On no other proposal does Mr. Jabotinsky stand as defeated in advance as on his present so-called unity plan.”
