The Hebrew Theological College of Chicago, which five years ago came into existence with an enrollment of 40, now has an attendance of 400. This was announced by Rabbi Saul Silber, president of the college, and Dr. Mayer Waxman, secretary on completion of registration.
The students come from seventeen states of the United States, and four students are from Palestine. Eighteen girls attend. The faculty numbers seventeen teachers.
The college, Rabbi Silber pointed out, does not grant a divinity degree until the student has been graduated from a standard college. The local school aims to develop modern American Orthodox rabbis.
