College students seeking to remember Sept. 11 victims can find inspiration in the words of a rabbi burned to death for teaching the Torah. Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life has published a booklet, “For the Parchments May Burn, but the Letters are Flying Free,” after the phrase Rabbi Chanina Ben Traydon uttered in the year 135 C.E. as the Romans wrapped him in a Torah scroll and set him on fire.
