A resolution providing for the convocation of a world Jewish congress in Geneva in August, 1935, was unanimously adopted last night at the closing plenary session of the world Jewish conference, which concluded its four-day deliberations.
The conference decided that all future political work and the task of organizing the world Jewish congress should be undertaken by a special committee named by the Committee of Jewish Delegations and the executive body of the world Jewish congress. The special committee, according to the decision, is to include ten Americans. Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the Committee of Jewish Delegations, is to head the new committee.
Other resolutions adopted by the conference demand more effective support by the League of Nations on issues involving the Jews, especially those involving German Jewish refugees.
James G. McDonald, League High Commissioner for German refugees, was also urged to display more activity, in the same resolution.
