Leaders of all the major unions in Illinois affiliated with the American Federation of Labor and the CIO today pledged full support to the Histadruth in Palestine at a conference held here. The conference was addressed by Joseph Schlossberg of New York and Don Pines, Histadruth representative now in the United States.
“It is our ardent desire that Chicago labor should be well represented in the emergency conference of the American trade union movement to be held in Atlantic City on May 16-18, in connection with the Palestine question,” the conference resolution said. “We ask all affiliated unions and also the central labor bodies to send delegates to this conference so that Chicago labor can be of assistance in forging a policy of help and moral support for the labor movement (Histadruth) in Palestine.”
