Representatives of Orthodox, Conservative and Reform Judaism, conferring here on the roles and responsibilities of the Jewish religious bodies in community relations and social action, commended the National Community Relations Advisory Council for having provided a means whereby they could plan jointly among themselves and with the national and local Jewish community relations agencies.
Meeting under the auspices of the NCRAC Committee on Interreligious Activities were representatives of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the United Synagogue of America, and the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. The conference was held at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
Speakers for the three national Jewish religious bodies stressed that the Jewish religious organizations have unique responsibility for interfaith relationships with church groups and are uniquely competent to represent the religious Jewish community in all matters and relationships involving Jewish religious matters.
