The Consular Truce Commission established by the United Nations Security Council last April will not cease functioning even after the arrival in Palestine of the newly-named U.N. Palestine Conciliation Commission, it was learned here today from authoritative consular sources. Unless the Security Council specifically orders its dissolution, the Consular body will serve as an advisory body to the Conciliation Commission and will refrain, meanwhile, from any “major political acts.”
U.N. truce observers in Gaza reported last night that Israeli planes bombed Gaza, Jhan Yunis, Rafa and the Gaza beach last Sunday and again on the night of Jan, 3. The U.N. officials said that 30 civilians were killed and 70 wounded in the bombings.
