The 32nd annual convention of the National Council for Jewish Education, comprising Jewish educators from the United States, Canada and Mexico, opens here tomorrow at the Breakers Hotel, with Dr. Nahum Goldmann, Jewish Agency president, as guest speaker. One of the major topics of discussion will be the participation of parents in Jewish education.
Other subjects to be discussed in the course of the convention are: the role of the central agencies and bureaus of Jewish education in the American Jewish community, the role of parents in planning the program of Jewish education, and in-service training for Jewish teachers to raise the standards of the Jewish teaching profession. Welfare benefits for the Jewish teaching personnel, codes of practice, retirement plan and other welfare benefits for Jewish educational personnel will also be considered.
