The current spate of anti-Semitic activities around the world is being directed out of Cairo, according to the Berlings Tidende, leading Danish organ.
“Reliable sources,” the newspaper stated, report that the swastika-smearing, anti-Semitic campaign, “has been organized in and is being brewed in Cairo, under the supervision of Johannes van Leers,” The latter is a German ex-Nazi in charge of anti-Semitic propaganda on the staff of United Arab Republic President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
“It is wrong to believe that Germany is the source of this epidemic,” the newspaper declared. “The poison is brewed in Cairo. All the young hooligans painting swastikas, distributing leaflets, get their inspiration from Cairo, whether they operate in Bonn or elsewhere.”
“Nasser’s propaganda,” Berlingske Tidende asserted, “is beginning to work. Some of it is distributed by the Scandinavia-Arab Friendship Union, which has central offices in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Some of the anti-Semitic leaflets are being distributed out of Elainore, in Denmark, and out of Stavanger, Norway. Another main distribution center is Buenos Aires.”
