The two daughters of Senator Moses Schorr, Chief Rabbi of Warsaw, expressed elation today over a Jewish Telegraphic Agency report from Kaunas quoting refugees’ statements that Prof. Schorr was alive and under arrest in Soviet-held Lwow, not executed by the Gestapo in Warsaw as had been reported by some sources.
“We never believed he could be dead,” the daughters said, “because we knew he had left Warsaw.” They expressed hope that their father would be released by the Soviet authorities.
