Dowey D. Stone, noted Zionist leader and philanthropist, was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities by Boston University yesterday. Mr. Stone, chairman of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, was graduated from Boston University in 1920. He was cited as a “humanitarian whose instinctive serviceableness finds expression in many good causes, particularly in higher education as it is being developed in Israel.”
