Dr. Salo Baron, professor of history at the Jewish Institute of Religion, will be tendered a luncheon by the students of the Institute on Thursday, February 13, at one o’clock. The occasion is the appointment of Dr. Baron to the faculty of Columbia University, which was recently announced in the Bulletin.
Among the speakers at the luncheon will be Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the Institute, who was instrumental in bringing Dr. Baron to America in 1922. Dr. Baron, who is 35 years of age, will assume the chair of Jewish literature, history and institutions at Columbia immediately.
