The American Emergency Committee for Zionist Affairs today announced that it has received more than 600 messages from rabbis in the United States approving the formation of a Jewish military force in Palestine. Congressmen Andrew L. Somers, of Brooklyn, in a speech before the House yesterday asked that President Roosevelt appoint an American general to find the best and most expedient way to create a Jewish military unit in the Middle East composed of Palestine Jews.
