Edward M. Kahn, one of the outstanding Jewish communal workers in the South, executive director of three of the foremost Jewish organizations in this city, will retire from active organizational work, it was announced here today. The announcement was made jointly by the presidents of the three organizations which Mr. Kahn has been heading professionally. They are: Abe Coldstein, of the Atlanta Jewish Welfare Fund; Abe Sehwartz, of the Federation of Jewish Services here; and Max Cuba, of the Atlanta Jewish Community Council.
A statement lauding his years of leadership was issued by the three organizational presidents, who announced also that the entire Jewish community had been invited to participate in a farewell testimonial for Mr. Kahn on January 15. The principal speaker at that event will be Philip Bernstein, executive director of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds.
