Deputy Premier Simcha Ehrlich was reported in “serious” condition at Bikur Holim Hospital where he was admitted Tuesday following a stroke.
Hospital sources indicated the 78-year-old Cabinet minister’s condition had deteriorated since yesterday when he was described as functioning normally, except for paralysis of his legs. Today’s bulletin reported that Erhrlich was not conscious and that only family members were allowed at his bedside. Premier Menachem Begin visited the hospital but did not enter Ehrlich’s room.
