Contemporary anti-Semitism and anti-Israelism are shared by the extreme right and the extreme left and “with a few exceptions are strikingly similar, indeed identical,” Prof. Arieh Tartakower, chairman of the Israeli branch of the World Jewish Congress, declared here last night. Prof. Tartakower, who addressed the British branch of the World Hebrew Union (Brit Ivrit Olamit), of which he is also chairman, said that the phenomenon dates from last June’s Six-Day War. “Since then, the extreme right and the extreme left have been united in their hatred of Israel, which spills over into anti-Semitism of the type we knew before,” he said.
