The first Israeli cargo vessel to reach Canada’s shores docked here this week-end. The 10,000-ton S.S. Haifa brought a cargo of Jams and chocolate from Israel and will return with 1,000 tons of grain and other supplies.
Thousands of Jews from Montreal and the surrounding area flocked to the harbor to welcome the vessel. A special affair for the Israeli crew was arranged by local Zionist groups.
