The first Jewish school since the closing down of Jewish institutions by the Nazi regime in 1938 will begin functioning this week. It was reopened by the Jewish Community with the aid of the Joint Distribution Committee.
In addition to teaching Hebrew, Jewish history and literature, the school will also have manual training classes. Instructions in tailoring, shoemaking and ##arpentry will be given by experts. The J.D.C. will provide students with hot meals and has made special transportation arrangements to bring the smaller children to school in buses.
