The flag of Israel was raised in Washington tonight to honor the arrival here of Dr. Chaim Weizmann, President of the Provisional Government of Israel, for an official visit tomorrow with President Truman.
President Weizmann arrived in the Capital at 5:30 P.M. after flying down from New York. He will spend the night at Blair House, official resident for visiting dignitaries, where, for the first time in U.S. history, the Israeli flag will fly after his arrival. In addition to his appointment with President Truman tomorrow morning, Dr. Weizmann will probably confer with high State Department officials during his official stay here. Brig. Gen. Julius Klein, national commander of the Jewish War Veterans, will serve as Dr. Weizmann’s military aide during the latter’s visit in this country.
