Former physicist, Leonid Kovner, from the town of Gorky, has received permission to emigrate to Israel, according to reports reaching the National Conference on Soviet Jewry. Kovner’s parents, soon after his application to emigrate, were publicly rebuked. His mother was dismissed as a lecturer in Gorky University’s radio faculty and his father was severely reprimanded for being without “public awareness.”
