Leon Marchal, the newly-appointed French representative to the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine, today paid a series of calls on Israel officials, including Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett. The visits were described here as “purely courtesy calls with responsible officials.”
M. Marchal is scheduled to leave tomorrow for a tour of the capitals of Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt where he will make similar calls. He has already met Syrian officials in Damascus.
