Concerned over the fate of more than 100 Jewish refugees en route to Chile known to have been aboard the ill-fated Netherlands liner Simon Bolivar, the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association today attempted to contact the Jewish Refugee Relief Committee in Amsterdam, which assisted their emigration. The HIAS-ICA hoped to establish within the next few days the names of all the refugees who sailed, as well as the names of survivors who landed at Harwich, England.
