A Palestinian from Gaza this week claimed the $2 million prize he won in the state lottery.
The Palestinian was the sole winner in last month’s drawing, but was unable to collect his winnings because of the closure of the territories in the wake of the suicide bombing at Beit Lid Junction that killed 21 Israelis. On Wednesday, the winner, who concealed his identity by wearing a plastic bag over his head, went to lottery headquarters in Tel Aviv.
He told reporters that he was very happy and was considering investing the money.
