The question whether Russian Jews may be permitted to leave the Soviet Union to visit relatives in Israel and the United States may come under consideration by the committee of experts which is examining problems of East-West contacts for a report to the conference of foreign ministers, the Soviet spokesman indicated today.
Leonid Ilichev, the Soviet spokesman, was asked whether the Soviet Union would consider, under the heading of East-West contacts, the granting of permission to Russian Jews to leave to visit relatives abroad. He replied: “I will consider giving an answer to this question when the experts have concluded their work.”
