The Jewish community of Hameln is greatly excited over leaflets being distributed by the National Socialist party which urges that the Jews be beaten wherever found because “they slaughtered our comrades.” The anti-Semitic agitation arises from a quarrel between a Jewish bank official who slapped a member of the National Socialists after the latter had insulted him.
The Central Association of German Citizens of Jewish Faith has sent a representative to Hameln to help the Jewish population there and has also launched a permanent campaign to curb the growing anti-Semitism in Thuringia.
