A check for $10,000 in full payment of Harris-burg’s pledge to the United Jewish Campaign was presented to David A. Brown, national chairman of the United Jewish Campaign at the opening of the third annual campaign for the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Harrisburg here last night.
The sum of $25,000 was pledged; $10,000 in cash for the Harrisburg Federation; the goal of $41,218,50 is expected to be reached in a three day drive.
The collection of pledges was the principal subject under discussion at the meeting. Several methods were suggested and the issuance of notes to be discounted by banks was advocated as a menas of liquidating individual indebtedness.
