Warning that racial and religious hatred were being successfully used to undermine American democracy was sounded today by Stanly High, author and lecturer, speaking at the opening session of the ninth annual New York Herald Tribune Forum on Current Problems at the Waldorf-Astoria.
Declaring that this country has not escaped anti-Semitism, Mr. High estimated that there were probably 200 organizations in the United States which, “openly or by indirection, accept anti-Semitism as a part of their platform and preach it aggressively.”
The speaker, whose topic was “Termites in America,” urged legal abolition of the German-American Bund and the Communist Party as a means of combating those who would destroy the American system of government. He advocated deportation of all aliens if they did not record their desire to become citizens after six months in the United States.
