Spokesmen of St. John’s Hospital, Long Island City, yesterday denied there was a strike in the hospital despite the fact that seventeen members of the dental staff walked out of the clinic last Friday afternoon.
The work of the striking dentists is being done by an emergency staff. Led by Dr. William Lefkowitz of 60-14 Roosevelt avenue, Queens, the dentists walked out in protest against the dismissal of Dr. John Cavanaugh, who, they claimed, was dismissed arbitrarily.
