The final establishment of the Hungarian Jewish rehabilitation Fund has been delayed by internal factional disputes within the Jewish community and by the recent change in the government.
Community-wide elections will be held in eight weeks. Meanwhile, the major campaigns are being waged by the Zionists and the so-called Unity Party, which seems to have a majority of the city’s Jews on its side. The Unity Party declares that it is not opposed to Zionism, but that the interests of those Jews wo do not desire to immigrate must be protected by a group other than the Zionists.
