High Commissioner Lord Plumer, was among the notables who gathered at the station to welcome the Crown Prince of Italy, Prince Humbert, on his arrival here. Foreign consuls and the Latin Patriarch greeted the visitor.

The British gendarmerie paraded and sang the Italian anthem. The Crown Prince visited the Government House and was accorded a reception by Cardinal Barlassina at the entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
