Since the start of the U.S. and British war against Iraq, there has been a new wave of anti-Semitic incidents in France. The following are the major anti-Semitic attacks since the start of the war:
March 22: Two Jewish youths are beaten by demonstrators during an anti-war protest here outside the headquarters of the Zionist youth movement Hashomer Hatzair.
March 24: A man wearing a kipah is attacked at a gas station in northern Paris.
March 26: A Jewish man finds a Star of David carved on the front of his car in western Paris. Also, a Jewish man is beaten on the Champs Elysees following an accident involving a scooter, after the driver notices the victim wearing a Star of David.
March 27: A Jewish woman is briefly hospitalized after being hit by a stone thrown from an adjoining building while standing in the grounds of a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Garges les Gonesses. She loses three teeth.
Night of March 28-29: A synagogue door burned in fire in western Paris.
Night of March 29-30: A Molotov cocktail is thrown at the back of a synagogue in Massy, in the southern suburbs of Paris. An outer wall of the building is partially burned.
