Vice President Walter Mondale said this afternoon that Israel had agreed to a meeting between Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kummel in London later this month in which Secretary of State Cyrus Vance is expected to participate. Mondale made the announcement after a 90 minute meeting with Premier Menachem Begin and members of the Ministerial Defense Committee. The Vice President flies to Alexandria tomorrow for a meeting with President Anwar Sadat to learn if Egypt is also agreeable to the London meeting. Replying to reporters’ questions, Mondale said he discerned no changes in Israel’s positions.
