Aubrey S. Eban, Israeli delegate to the United Nations, said today that he had discussed “the most complex problems” with Acting secretary of State James E. Webb for almost two hours.
Mr. Eban declined specific comment, explaining he viewed the discussion as “confidential.” He said that “a general discussion of all problems “was held and that the discussion was “full, frank, and friendly.” Mark Ethridge, who resigned officially yesterday as American representative on the United Nations Palestine Conciliation Commission, was present at the meeting.
Mr. Eban was accompanied by Israeli Charge d’Affaires Uriel Reyd and Reuben Shiloah, special assistant to Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett.
