Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres defended his country’s F-16 missile strikes against the Palestinians. Peres made his comments in Moscow, where he is meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials. Peres said Israel wishes to reach a political solution through negotiations and will respond militarily only when there is no choice, but would never shell Palestinian civilian targets.
