Israeli soldiers enforcing a curfew in the West Bank town of Hebron shot a Palestinian who ran toward them brandishing a toy gun that they thought was real. The commander of the troops said the man, who later died of his wounds, appeared to be mentally unstable. The army imposed the curfew after gunmen opened fire on a van traveling between Kiryat Arba and Hebron, wounding two Israeli women.
