An explosive charge planted by an Arab terrorist shattered windows in downtown Jerusalem last night but caused no injuries or other damage. Two Arab youths from East Jerusalem who were seen in the vicinity of the blast were arrested for questioning. The charge, containing about 250 grams of high explosives and a time fuse, was painted under a concrete mixer that was parked at a building construction site near the Bank of Israel.
An Israeli soldier was injured this morning when the halftrack he was riding in struck a mine in the southern sector of the Golan Heights, near the Jordanian border, a military spokesman reported. It was the third incident of its kind in the past week. The bodies of five Egyptian soldiers killed in a clash with Israeli troops in northern Sinai yesterday were transferred to Egyptian authorities at Kantara through the offices of the International Red Cross. An investigation indicated that the Egyptian infiltrators, the first in Sinai since last June’s Six-Day War, were on an intelligence-gathering mission, a military spokesman said. One was a lieutenant. They were clad in commando-type uniforms.
