It would be wrong to disengage from negotiations with the Palestinians now, said Israel’s new consul general in New York. “There is a day after Clinton and a morning after the Israeli elections,” Alon Pinkas told JTA, refuting the view that the end of the Clinton administration and the election campaign in Israel spell the end of peace talks. “The issues are not going to go away.”
