Jewish community leaders here honored three representatives of the Joint Distribution Committee at a dinner lauding the JDC work in Latin America and emphasizing its aid in the resettlement of Jewish newcomers in Argentina, Brazil and other South American countries.
Those honored were Charles Jordan, general director of the JDC; Sydney Nelson. JDC director of JDC operations in Latin America, who has just been appointed head of the JDC office in Paris; and Henry Levy, the new director for JDC work in Latin America. Israel Ambassador A. Levavi, who was one of the principal speakers, stressed the importance of the JDC work in Israel.
