More than 60 Jewish community executives from large, intermediate and small cities in the United States and Canada will attend the fifth annual Executive’s Institute sponsored by the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds to be held from September 4-9 at French Lick, Indiana, it was announced by H.L. Lurie, C.J.F.W.F. executive director. The Institute, held annually in September, provides community executives with a first-hand opportunity to discuss current Jewish needs and problems, and to seek ways and means in meeting them for the forthcoming year.
This year’s Institute is built around three major points of interest–the overseas picture, analysis of 1950 campaign and budgeting experience, and community organization and planning. In addition, there will be small meetings by population groups on specific problems confronting these communities. Harold Glasser, director of the C.J.F.W.F. Institute on Overseas Studies, will report on the economic situation in Israel at the overseas session. The executives will also analyze the 1950 campaign experience and its implications for planning in 1951, and examine problems of organization and planning for local services in 1951.
