Adlai Stevenson, chief of the United States delegation to the United Nations, accepted today from the American Jewish Congress a shofar and a scroll honoring the American delegation for fostering “the principles of decency and justice in human affairs.”
Some 800 members of the organization and a number of members of the delegation attended the ceremony. The scroll cited the role of the delegation in promoting “the evolution of a world community of nations in which all men can live in peace, dignity and the full enjoyment of human rights.” Rabbi Joachim Prinz, president of the AJC, made the presentations.
