A number of political prisoners in Slonim are on trial before a court martial there on the charge of attempting to escape. Among them are eleven Jews, Samuel Okulka, Solomon Alpert, David Lev, Moses Schwartz, Simcha Shevson, Pavel Kasieko, Daniel Adamowitz, Michael Sovchuk, Wolf Epstein, Michael Jeksherek and Getzel Mostkov. It is expected that they will be sentenced to death.
More than one-third of all the Political prisoners in Poland are Jews, according to official statistics made public today by the Ministry of Justice. Of the 1419 political prisoners 497 are Jews, 425 Poles, 295 Ukrainians, 145 White Russians, 36 Lithuanians, 16 Germans and 1 Czecho-Slovakian.
