Abcarius, a Jewish proselyte, is preparing the briefs that English counsel for the Arabs will plead before the Privy Council in the fight against the Arab death sentences. His brief argues, first, that the Court of Appeals was improperly composed, since the judges were familiar with the proceedings of the lower courts; second, that all premeditated murder cases should have been postponed pending the Inquiry Commission’s findings if the riots were organized; third, that there are discrepancies between the British and Ottoman law as regards premeditation; and fourth, that the presence of 30 or 40 people, all charged with murder, constitutes a problem of unusual gravity.
