The “Thank You Britain” appeal, organized by a group of Jewish refugees who found haven in Britain during the Nazi era, raised 90,000 pounds ($252,000) this year, almost double its goal of 50,000 pounds ($140,000), appeal officials said today. Response to the campaign exceeded all expectations, they said. The money will be given to the British Academy, which will allocate it for university research group in human studies.
