Barnet Janner, Jewish member of Parliament for Whitechapel, today asked in the House of Commons whether the British steel and iron industry was exhibiting at the Levant Fair, and pointed out that British steel exports to Palestine in February, 1934, were many times greater than that of February, 1933.
Colonel David J. Colville, Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Trade, answered on behalf of the government that the Federation of British Industries, had informed the government that more than one-third of the available space at the Levant Fair was taken by British steel and engineering manufacturers, and that therefore no further action was necessary.
